Caspar David Friedrich, che non vide mai le Alpi, si servì di un dipinto di Carus del 1821 che dipinse una veduta del Monte Anvert nel Gruppo del Monte Bianco. Le cime sullo sfondo sono le Grand Jorasses, la montagna antistante l'Aguille du Tacul. Questo è un omaggio al grande Maestro del Romanticismo e del Simbolismo tedesco dell' 800. 19-set-1995

Caspar David Friedrich, who never saw the Alps, used a painting by Carus from 1821 who painted a view of Mont Anvert in the Mont Blanc Group. The peaks in the background are the Grand Jorasses, the mountain opposite the Aguille du Tacul. This is a tribute to the great master of German Romanticism and Symbolism of the 19th century. 19-Sep-1995
