142 Il ponte a Dolceacqua

Sono capitato in questo paesino della Liguria dal nome suggestivo senza sapere nulla del Ponte Romanico costruito nei primi anni del XV secolo. Il profilo è estremamente snello, una luce ardita di ben 33 metri, proprio vicino al ponte, che tuttora collega le due porzioni del borgo, il fiume fa un’ansa e si trova uno sperone roccioso. In cima sono visibili gli imponenti resti del castello dei Doria, distrutto in un assedio del XVIII secolo, e più in basso sono arroccate le case del borgo, fitte e compatte, divise da stretti vicoli molto tortuosi.

Claude Monet fu così colpito dalla bellezza di Dolceacqua da ritrarla in ben tre quadri nel 1884. E io in questo dipinto del 19 settembre 993.

142 The bridge in Dolceacqua-Sweetwater

I came across this charmingly named Ligurian village without knowing anything about the Romanesque bridge built in the early 15th century. The profile is extremely slender, a daring light of 33 meters, right near the bridge, which still connects the two portions of the village, the river makes a loop and there is a rocky spur. At the top you can see the imposing remains of the Doria castle, destroyed in an eighteenth-century siege and further down are the houses of the village, dense and compact, divided by narrow, very winding alleys.

Claude Monet was so struck by the beauty of Dolceacqua that he portrayed her in three paintings in 1884. And I in this painting dated 19 september 1993.
